APC Supporters Reportedly Burn Down PDP Building In Gombe



The Gombe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of destroying several property belonging to the PDP in Gona Village of Akko Local Government Area on Sunday, January 11, 2015.
This comes barely two days after Goodluck Jonathan and his vice, Namadi Sambo. 
Premium Times reports that one Mijinyawa Ahmed, a resident of the town availed that a convoy of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Inuwa Yahya, started the violence which saw two PDP vehicles, the PDP office and other shops burnt down.
Ahmed said: “The APC candidate was on his way to Billiri town for a rally and his convoy suddenly stopped in the town and some of the youth in the convoy began to destroy the billboards of Governor Dankwambo and other PDP property.”
Junaidu Abubakar, the spokesperson to Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, confirmed the incident. He said:“In their quest to destroy the billboards of the governor and burn PDP office, peoples shops were also burnt down completely
“Many people began running into the bush thinking that Boko haram are attacking them,” he added.
