3 Arrested For Mass-Purchasing PVC In Niger State


Three individuals have been rounded up over allegations of mass purchasing of permanent voter cards (PVCs) frm prospective voters in Niger State.
Leadership reports that the three suspects were arrested in Kalgara Rafi local government area in possession of PVC’s, allegedly purchased from villagers. The men who were arrested over the weekend have been linked to one of the leading political parties and were buying the cards for between N10,000 and N20,000.
An unnamed sourcs further revealed : “For instance at Kutriko in Agaie local government area of the state, there are allegations about a candidate of a political party who threatened to confiscate the PVCs of the people who were not ready to support his party, and freely allow those identified to be his supporters to collect their cards.”
The three men have been transferred to Niger State Police Criminal Investigation department for thorough investigation.
