NDLEA in Ekiti State warns students against using illicit drugs
Ado-Ekiti - The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ekiti State on Monday warned secondary school students against taking harmful drugs.
According to the Agency, such drugs could affect the students' brains and respiratory organs.
The Public Relations Officer of the agency, Mr Peter Njoku, gave the warning during a seminar organized for secondary school students in Ado-Ekiti.
Njoku said it had been discovered that many boys and girls were taking tramadol tablets as well as Indian hemp to perpetrate crimes.
He reported that secondary school students have been caught buying Indian hemp and some other harmful drugs, which are not good for their health.
Njoku added that a drug demand reduction unit had been set up to curb the trend and counsel youths on the dangers of taking hard drugs. (NAN)
