The climax of the Champions League is nearing closer as the semi-final stage of the competition is upon us. Atletico MadridBayern Munich, Chelsea and Real Madrid will now take centre stage in Europe's elite club competition after an exciting round of quarter-final fixtures saw PSG stunned at the Bridge, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have their dreams of an upset dashed in heartbreak and Barcelona lose out to the darlings of this year's tournament.

Reigning European champions Bayern Munich have continued their dominant form once again this year and could be on track to repeat the treble, as they have already won the Bundesliga in record fashion and face Kaiserslautern in the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal. After Patrice Evra gave the Bavarians a late scare in the second leg of their tie in Munich with the goal of his career, Pep Guardiola's men got down to business and crushed Manchester United's European dreams with three goals to see off the Premier League outfit.

Jose Mourinho's Chelsea side made sure the Premier League would not be left out of the semi-finals however, and the 'Special One' danced his way down the sidelines after an 87th minute goal from the unlikeliest of suspects, Demba Ba, who saw off the men from France.

This year's dark horse in the tournament, Atletico Madrid, has won the hearts of many along the way, as they stunned their La Liga foes thanks to fantastic goal from Koke in the 5th minute of their second leg tie with Barcelona and reached the semi-finals of the competition for the first time 40 years.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid looked as though they were breezing their way through to the semi-finals until Jurgen Klopp's pesky side clawed their way back in the fixture only to fall one goal short.

It will be a semi-final filled with massive storylines, and surely will be a round of fixtures that will not disappoint.

The first leg of the semi-finals will take place on April 22nd and 23rd, with the second leg coming a week later on the 29th and 30th.

The draw is as follows:

Real Madrid  v  Bayern Munich
Atletico Madrid v Chelsea FC

The winner of semi-final one - Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich - will be the home teamfor the final.
