According to reports, the town which is just outside the state capital of Jalingo, is under heavy attack by gunmen.
Residents of the town who are said to be fleeing to neighbouring towns, have alleged that several people have been killed by the herdsmen in Wukari.
They are calling on immediate intervention of security operatives before the town is destroyed.
