Makanjuola wins Nigeria's first match at the Table Tennis World Tours

Kazeem Makanjuola was able to secure Nigeria's first victory at the ongoing International Table Tennis Federation World Tours in Spain.


Makanjuola on Wednesday won all his game as he defeated his Venezuelan opponent, 11-4, 11-3, 11-6, 11-4.

He will today play against Spain’s Alfredo Carneros hoping to make the main draws.

But in the Women's draw,Ganiat Olatunde-Aruna lost to India’s Shamini Kumaresan in her first group match,losing 13-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-6

In the doubles events,both Makanjuola and Aruna Quadri will today play against Denmark’s duo of Mikkel Hindesson and Kasper Sternberg on Thursday.

In the Women's category Olatunde-Aruna and Edem Offiong will face Chinese Taipei’s Hsin Huang and Hsing-Yin Liu on Thursday as well.
