FG Arraigns 3 Cops, 5 Others for Death of DPO, 3 Policemen

Three policemen and five other suspected members of the Boko Haram sect were Wednesday arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja, for allegedly unleashing terror at the Ashaka police station, Bajoga LGA of Gombe state, which led to the death of the Divisional Police Officer SP Abubakar Sadia, and three other cops.
Private prosecution counsel, Lawrence Alabi, on behalf of the Federal Government told the trial judge, Justice Ademola Adeniyi that the alleged offence was committed by the eight accused persons on March 7, 2012 in Ashaka, Gombe state.
The three accused cops are Cpl Jimmy Oba’a of Nigeria Police Force Bajoga Division Gombe state, PC Michael Manu and PC Iliya Mark, of same Bajoga Division, while the other suspects are Abeimel Ibrahim, Isah Kano, Yambah Umaru, Danbga Wilfred and Sadeeq Ali Amatiga.
However, all the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the three-charge dated September 20, 2013, when it was read to them by the court.
