White Widow, Samantha Lewthwaite, Linked To Abuja Bombing

Abuja Bombing

A UK-based newspaper, Daily Star linked Samantha Lewthwaite, also known as the White Widow, to the horrific attack in Abuja on Monday, April 14 which left 71 dead and hundreds wounded.

Lewthwaite is the widow of the infamous 7/7 bomber Germaine Lindsay, who is currently on the run with her three children. She was also linked with the Westgate Shopping Mall Attacks in Nairobi, Kenya.

Gun men

Gunmen believed to be Fulani herdsmen have on Thursday, April 17, 2014 attacked Wukari town in Taraba state.

According to reports, the town which is just outside the state capital of Jalingo, is under heavy attack by gunmen.

Residents of the town who are said to be fleeing to neighbouring towns, have alleged that several people have been killed by the herdsmen in Wukari.

They are calling on immediate intervention of security operatives before the town is destroyed.

A girl aged 12 and three months and her 13-year-old boyfriend have become Britain’s youngest parents, it emerged last night.

There is controversy over the rescue of abducted school girls in Borno with the state government and the school principal faulting the military’s claim that most of the pupils have been freed

The claim by military officials in Abuja on Wednesday that 107 abducted girls of Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Chibok were freed is a huge lie, Borno government officials, the management of the school and residents have said.

The Principal of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Asabe Kwambura, told PREMIUM TIMES Thursday morning that the military’s claim was false.

She told In Touch that she and her son have been struggling financially, and that no one in the Knowles family is willing to help them out. She gave birth to the child after having an affair with Mathew while he was married to his ex-wife, Tina. Since Beyonce is the most famous member of the family, Alexsandra is calling her name in public the most.

“Nixon deserves to know his family, and I hope one day he will meet his sister Beyoncé,” Alexsandra said to In Touch.

The Bauchi State Police Command on Wednesday said that gunmen had snatched two Hilux vans belonging to the United Nations prior to an attack on Soro town in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

The Command's Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed, told the newsmen in Bauchi that the incident occurred on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Abductors of renowned politician, Stephen Madu Marama, has demanded for N100,000,000 (one hundred mullion naira) ransom.

Marama, a senatorial aspirant was kidnapped on his way to Maiduguri from his village Marama.

The abductors, who called the family about three days ago, have thrown the family into serious commotion over the big ransom.

Bomb Scare Rocks National Assembly

The National Assembly Complex in Abuja was Tuesday vacated by Legislators and civil servants following a bomb scare around the complex.

Still reeling from the shock of Monday bomb blast at Nyanya motor park in the city, workers at the complex were apprehensive, with offices, banks and restaurants within the premises quickly locked up, while officers of the Nigeria Police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Department of State Security Service were alerted and they quickly mobilised and were seen patrolling the area to avert any mishap.

The suspect, who claimed to be a student of Punjab College in Pakistan, was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, by the operatives when the illicit drug was discovered in his luggage during inward screening of passengers on board a Qatar airline flight.

A car bomb killed over 70 people on Monday in Nyanya, Abuja.

Nigerian authorities ordered an immediate evacuation of the National Assembly Tuesday a day after a massive car bomb killed at least 71 people and wounded 124 more at a car station near the capital, Abuja.

Security agents asked lawmakers and other staffers to leave the sprawling complex in central Abuja after reports that an explosive material had been planted in the building. The claims were not immediately confirmed.

The National Assembly is located within the Three Arms Zone, Nigeria’s most fortified district, which lies a short distance from Nyanya, the scene of Monday’s bombing.

World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim, yesterday, said Nigeria is one of the top five countries that has the largest number of poor.

Speaking at the ongoing IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings, Kim said Nigeria ranked third in the world while India ranked number one with 33 per cent of the world poor.
