Soweto crime suspects to appear in court

A 29-year-old man allegedly stabbed his first victim to death in Zondi
A number of suspects will appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court, in Soweto, on Monday morning on charges including murder, rape and theft over the weekend.

A wanted suspect was arrested at the Jabulani Hostel on Friday in connection with two separate murders. The 29-year-old man allegedly stabbed his first victim to death in Zondi in March, before killing another person in the same way at the hostel on Christmas Day.

In Mofolo North, a teenager was arrested for allegedly raping his five-year-old niece on Saturday.

Another suspect due in court is a 20-year-old man who was found in possession of illegal copper cables in Zondi.

Meanwhile, police are investigating after one person was found dead and another seriously injured in an apparent mob justice attack in Dobsonville. Also near Dobsonville, another person was found dead with an open wound to his head in Bramfisherville.
