Pictured in its watery grave: Haunting first glimpse of twisted wreckage of AirAsia plane lying at the bottom of the Java Sea

Eerie photographs have shown the wreckage of AirAsia flight QZ8501 lying on the bottom of the Java Sea.

Images show pieces of the jet including what appears to be the tail fin showing the AirAsia logo and possibly an interior section of the cabin. Divers and an unmanned underwater vehicle spotted the missing plane's tail. It's here that also usually houses the 'black box' flight data recorders which will be crucial to determining the cause of the crash.

The haunting pictures revealed on Wednesday come as Indonesian aviation authorities denied officials took bribes to allow airlines to alter their flight schedules amid allegations some were paid to approve unscheduled take-offs,including that of crashed AirAsia flight QZ8501.

A food vendor popularly called Mama T who is alleged to be a witch in Ughelli South local government area of Delta on Friday, January 2 confessed to have been using her urine to prepare moi-moi which she sells to the public.

According to reports, the woman is well-known throughout Ughelli for her special delicacies but got caught with her evil deeds after allegedly trying to kill a young man.

A young was said to be taking his bath when he was attacked by a rat. The surprised young man picked up a piece a wood to attack the advancing rat. After hitting the rat with the wood, it was alleged that the rat started increasing in size before eventually turning into a human being and disappeared afterwards, leaving two slippers behind.

The young man reportedly ran into town with the tale only to meet an angry mob surrounding a badly injured woman suspected of witchcraft. Eyewitness said some parts of the woman’s body were swollen which drew onlookers to her.

The young man was said to notice that the slippers the woman was wearing was the same as the one left by the person who disappeared after turning from a rat to a full human. The surprised unnamed boy raised the alarm which prompted the angry mob to descend on her.

After several minutes of beating by the mob, Mama T alleged confessed to a host of crimes including using her urine to prepare Moi-moi which she sells at her restaurant.

The family of Olive Nebo Ozioma, a graduate of the prestigious University of Nigerian, Nsukka, is still finding it difficult to believe that the 24-year-lady is no more, a day after she and her family celebrated the dawn of the year 2015.

The pretty Olive who was reported to be full of life and expectation for the New Year, died in mysterious circumstances while jogging, a day after she took to her Facebook page to welcome the New Year with great excitement.

Like many Nigerians who had looked forward to the year with anticipation, the late Olive had taken to her page at exactly 3.37am on the 1st of January, 2015, to write:

"OMG!!! Its 2015..... Is anyone feeling this vibe with me? Am sure you are! Lets celebrate together! We are blessed.... Hip Hip Hip!!!"

But according her friends, the following day, as she went to jog, something which had become her early morning routine, she slumped and died in the process.

Her family and close friends are still mourning the demise of the lady some described as energetic, helpful and very industrious,

May her soul rest in peace.

Johannesburg - A man charged with the murder of his girlfriend is to appear in the Mkobola Magistrate's Court, near KwaMhlanga, on Tuesday, Mpumalanga police said.

The 37-year-old woman's body was found in a shallow grave in his vegetable garden, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said.

She was reported missing on Sunday. On Monday, police approached her boyfriend and questioned him about her whereabouts.

"It appeared that the man tried to be evasive and told the police that his girlfriend last went to withdraw money from a bank and never returned,” Selvy said.

"The police searched around the house, and at the back yard, where there is a vegetable garden, they noticed that the soil was recently worked on.

"When questioned what he was doing in the garden, he said that he was planting beetroot seeds."

The police ordered him to bring a shovel so that they could see and confirm his claim. The man then allegedly confessed to killing the woman and burying her in the garden.

The auditorium of the College of Health Sciences, Benue State University, Makurdi, was in the night of Sunday, January 4, 2015 gutted by fire which destroyed some property worth millions of Naira in the hall.

Some eyewitnesses told Metro that “several fire extinguishers were exhausted to manage the situation” which would have consumed the entire college.

Tragic Monday: 11 Persons Die, Others Injured In Auto Crash In Benue

No fewer than eleven persons have been reported dead with several others injured at Uchi-Mbakor in the Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State as a result of an auto crash involving two commercial vehicles in the morning of Monday, January 5, 2015.

The head-on-collision involved a Toyota Hiace, which reportedly belonged to Ishwa and Sons Motors, and another commercial Volkswagen Sharon.

According to Reports, the Hiace somersaulted into the bush and immediately went up in flames burning about three passengers beyond recognition while the Volkswagen bus was mangled.

Passersby helped to pull out the corpses of the victims which was subsequently taken to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, and other health faculties in the area.

The Public Enlightenment Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Benue State Command, Mr. Samson Audu, who confirmed the accident said that the details were still sketchy.

“Our men (FRSC) are going round the hospitals and health facilities, where the victims were taken to, to collate the casualty figures,” said Audu.

The Boyfriend singer has been hit by alawsuit from 22-year-old Wayne Rennalls, who claims he was left covered in cuts and bruises following an altercation with the 20-year-old singer's security team at South Pointe nightclub in Southampton in May 2013.

Though police investigating the incident at the time weren't looking into the singer's conduct - as he wasn't involved in the brawl - Wayne's suit argues that because the bodyguards are on Justin's payroll, he should make things right financially.

Johannesburg - An alleged robber was wounded in a shoot-out with police after he stole a metro police officer's gun and tried to hijack a bakkie in Randburg on Tuesday, Johannesburg metro police said.

"A metro police sergeant was drawing money at an ATM at a filling station just off the Beyers Naude off-ramp, when he was attacked by a man who robbed him of his firearm," spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said on Wednesday.

"There was a fight. The suspect managed to grab the firearm from the holster and pull it out."

The man, who appeared to be in his late 20s, then pointed the gun at the officer.

"He squeezed the trigger but it didn't go off."

A 2-year-old toddler had been reported to have shot a woman at Idaho Walmart after picking a concealed gun from a purse and accidentally pulled the trigger, police say.

Johannesburg - Three pitbulls mauled a man to death in Germiston, on the East Rand,Netwerk24 reported on Monday.

Abie Masia, a 47-year-old security guard at the Laerskool Oosterkruin, was near the institution when the attack happened in Weerd Road, Primrose, at around 15:00 on Saturday.

The suspect reportedly went on a rampage, kicking doors open and attacking families.

A killing spree in the village of Drayini at Qhumanco outside Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape has left the community in shock. Two women have been raped and murdered. During the attacks a grandmother and a boy were stabbed and there was an attempt to rape another woman.

A man has been arrested in connection with the crimes.

The suspect went on the rampage, kicking doors open, raping and killing the women. He allegedly started with the Xhego family home, where a 21-year-old woman was sleeping alone.
